Paul A. Lanzi, 72, passed away at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem on July 2nd, 2009. He was born in Boston on April 15th, 1937 to his parents Louis and Alessandra (Cataldo) Lanzi. Paul was raised and educated in the North End of Boston. He lived in Malden for 36 years and has been a resident of Wakefield for the past 2 years. He worked as a Boiler Engineer at Sears and Roebuck in Brookline for over 26 years. He also worked for Comm Energy in Cambridge prior to his retirement. Paul served his country honorably in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Catalina “Cathy” (Gutierrez) Lanzi; by his children, Paul A. Lanzi Jr. and his wife Kristen of Reading, Joseph F. Lanzi and his wife Erin of North Reading and Peter A. Lanzi and his wife Katie of Wilmington; by his grandchildren, Gina, Jessica, Paul III, Christopher, Riley, Joseph Jr. and Maya; by his siblings, Joan Griffin, Loretta Noe and Rosemary Massa, all of Winthrop and Louis Lanzi of Malden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother Joseph Lanzi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday July 7th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday July 6th from 4-8 PM.
