James Ross Lindsey, Sr., 84, of Tifton died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009, in Tift Memorial Gardens. Dr. Fred Evers will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. on Saturday, July 4, 2009, from 12:30 until the hour of the service.
Mr. Lindsey was born on January 9, 1925 in Tift County and was the son of A. D. Lindsey and Margaret Stone Lindsey, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, June Bennett Lindsey; one son, Jimmy Lindsey; two brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild, Colby Hooper. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by two daughters, Cynthia E. Lindsey of Tifton and Renee Lindsey Winter of Alpharetta.
