Obituary

Arthur A. Cote, age 86, of Pinellas Park, Florida formerly of Wilmington passed away suddenly June 8th. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa M. (Quirk). Born in Lewiston, ME he was the only child of Arthur A. and Annie E. (Winthrop) Cote.

Mr. Cote was a Wilmington resident for more than sixty years. He worked as a foreman with the Massachusetts Electric Company for 44 years and retired in 1984. Mr. Cote was also a United States Army Veteran and honorably served as a Corporal with the 562d Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion during World War II. Mostly devoted to his loving family, he enjoyed and cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and keeping up with all their activities. Always active with his children while they were growing up, he was the first girl’s hockey coach for the Town of Wilmington Recreation Dept. In his leisure time he enjoyed Golfing, traveling, trips to the casino and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Cote is predeceased by his granddaughter, the late Teresa Lightfoot. He is survived by his children, Laura C. Perkins and husband Dan of Tewksbury, Paul A. Cote and wife Kathy of Methuen, Ann M. Pratt and husband Jack of Tewksbury, Patricia A. Lightfoot and husband Ernie of Tewksbury, Thomas M. Cote and wife Annette of FL, Mary T. Peters and husband Richard of Wilmington, Elizabeth A. Maga and husband Steven of Billerica, Richard A. Cote and wife Linda of Wilmington. He is also survived by fifteen loving grandchildren and five loving great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mr. Cote will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 374 Main St. Wilmington, Friday June 12th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9. Service will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
