WORCESTER-Elizabeth V. (Walsh) Pettis, 96, of 725 School Street, Webster died Thursday, July 24th in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband, Harold F. Pettis died in 1980. She leaves a son, Harold F. Pettis of Auburn; 4 daughters, Shirley R. Bullock of Boynton Beach, FL, Helen E. Mooney of Charlton, Betty Lou Raymond of Sutton and Beverly A. Beaumier of Charlton; 21 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Richard C. Pettis, a sister, Dorothy Jansa and a granddaughter, Lee A. Canty predeceased her.
She was born in Watertown and raised in Natick the daughter of Michael P. and Delia (Glynn) Walsh until moving to Worcester in 1922. Mrs. Pettis was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed sewing.
The funeral will be Monday, July 28th at 10:00 AM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue (oconnorbrothers.com). Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, July 27th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
