Barker, David R. Sr. of Duxbury passed away Monday June 29, after battling a serious illness at the age of 65. He was the devoted husband of Sandy (Adams) Barker. Loving father of David Barker Jr. and his wife Dena of Plymouth, Christopher Barker and his wife Cheryl of Duxbury, Candi Muldonian and her husband Stephen of Raynham, Todd Barker of Oxford and Patrick Petrocelli of Worchester. Dear son of Laura (Moses) Lantz of Carver and the late Ralph Barker. Brother of Gerry Barker of Maine and Janice Nichols of Plympton. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
David started his own concrete finishing company 40 years ago and enjoyed working side by side with his sons. He was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing with his family and his many friends, he loved the Maine woods and lived life to the fullest. David was born in Brockton and lived in Marshfield before moving to Duxbury in 1979. He was a member of the Seaside Club in Plymouth and the Plymouth Rod and Gun Club. David touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held in the First Congregational Church of Marshfield on Wednesday July 8, at 10:00 am.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean, Rte 139 Marshfield on Tuesday July 7, from 4 to 7 pm.
