
Elaine Grande, 56, of Scott Lane, Sandown, NH died Thursday July 24, 2003 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. She was born in Newport, RI on July 24, 1947, a daughter of the late Abraham and Bertha (Lubin) Pechow. She held residency in Sandown and Allston, MA for the past 15 years, formerly living in Allston and Brookline, MA. She received her BA in Sociology from Douglas College, a branch of Rutgers University in New Jersey and her Masters degree in Social Work from Boston State College, Boston, MA. She was employed by the Temporary Home for Women and Children in Boston. She worked in social services for more than 30 years. She was an avid runner and was involved with the Greater Lowell Road Runners, Greater Derry Track Club, Sandown Rogue Runners and the Boston Barley Hoppers.
She is survived by her husband Steven R. Grande of Sandown, NH, one brother, Steven Pechow and his wife Jill of Millstone Township, NJ, two nephews, one niece, her mother-in-law, Marjorie Grande and her companion Leo Sullivan of Malden, MA., also her brother-in-law Bob Grande and his wife Norma Andrews-Grande of Saugus, MA, formerly of Ainsworth, NE.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Monday July 28, 2003 at 11:00am at Great Hill Cemetery, Route 121A, Chester, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Inc., 500 NE Spanish River Blvd, Suite 14, Boca Raton, FL 33431.

DIRECTIONS TO GREAT HILL CEMETERY, CHESTER, NHRte 93 North or South to Exit 4, follow Rte 102 East towards Derry and continue to traffic rotary. Take your 3rd exit out of the rotary continuing on Rte 102 East approx. 5 miles to the center of Chester. At the top of the hill you will come to the intersection of Rte 121 (There is a blinking yellow light here). Turn right onto Rte 121, in approx. 1/4mile Rte 121 veers off to the right. You want to continue straight onto Rte 121A. The cemetery is a 1/2 mile on your left at the top of the hill. *Cemetery is approx. 20 minutes from Exit 4
