ERNEST W. CLARK of Brockton, formerly of Plymouth and Hingham, died on Monday, June 29th at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. He was 86. Mr. Clark was born in Boston, raised in Dorchester and graduated from Hyde Park High School. He served his country with distinction in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Clark was a firefighter for many years with the Boston Fire Dept. and then served with the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years at the Boston South Postal Annex. He was also a member of the Naval Airship Association.
He was the husband of Mildred G. (Trohon) Ray of Brockton and the late Virginia (Carrol) Clark. Father of Joan Marie Blanchette of Las Vegas, Barbara Patton of Milford, NH, Deborah LaMarche of No. Carolina, Robert Clark, Q.P.D. of Quincy and Richard Clark of Weymouth. Brother of Edward Clark of Middleboro, Margaret Hardiman of Florida, the late Rose Marie Nickerson and the late Walter Clark. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
Funeral Thursday, July 2nd at 9 AM from the Downing Chapel, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square at 10 AM. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
