Obituary

LOWELL - Albert J. Germain, 91, a lifelong resident of the City of Lowell, died Friday morning in Blair House, Tewksbury.

Born in Lowell on May 27, 1918 he was the son of the late Melville and Bernadette (Delisle) Germain. He received his education in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1946.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a Private First Class in the Army of the United States with the 188th Engineer Combat Battalion. He saw intense action overseas in Northern France, the Ardennes, the Rhineland and in Central Europe and was one of the fortunate survivors of the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Germain had been employed for many years as an orderly by the EN Rogers Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Bedford.

He was a member of the Lowell BPOE, was an avid fisherman and in his free time he enjoyed watching professional Boxing.

Surviving him are two nieces Denise Couture and Linda Poire both of Hudson, NH; and two nephews Robert Franciose of Framingham and Michael Franciose of Wareham. He was the brother of the late Aurore Franciose, Annette Gougeon and Claire Robert; and uncle of the late Dianne Geehan.

It being his wish, funeral services will be private under the direction and care of DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT.
