WESTPORT...Ralph F. Pettey, 84, of Westport died Wednesday, July 23,2003 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Constance (Berryman)Pettey. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Elizabeth(Hearn) Pettey. He died at home with his family by his side.
He was acommunicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Westport. He was self-employed as a farmer until his retirement. Mr. Pettey was an avid fishermanand loved to read. He and his wife were married for over 60 years. Mr.Pettey was a WWII Veteran in the U.S. Army.
Survivors in addition to hiswife include: 1 Son - Stephen A. Pettey of Westport, 1 Daughter - Joyce P.Silvia of Westport, 2 Sisters: Christina Willis of Decatur, IL and PhyllisTetreault of Florida, 13 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. He was thefather of the late Linda E. Pettey and brother of the late Beatrice Staudt andHilda Staudt.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 9:30 A.M.. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport. Calling Hours will be Friday 5:00 to 8:00 P.M..
