James W. Callahan, a 26 year resident of Malden and formerly of Somerville, died suddenly at his home in Malden on Thursday, June 25, 2009. He was 65 years old.
Jim was born in Woburn on April 3, 1944. He grew up in Somerville where he attended Somerville Public Schools. Jimmy worked in several capacities and mostly as a truck driver for Ahern Painting Company in Melrose. He retired in 2005 after 40 years of service. Jimmy enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, especially taking rides with his wife. He was a member of H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group.)
Jim is the beloved husband of 46 years to Margaret E. (McLennon) Callahan. He is the devoted father of Paul, Christine, April Marie, Michel and the late Baby Jimmy. He is the loving grandfather of Kristopher and Audrina. He is the beloved brother of John Callahan, Ann Meek and Paul Callahan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden. Cremation will take place following his Funeral Mass.
