Obituary

Methuen, MA- Habib J. “Cappy” Saab, 87 , died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by those he loved.

Born and educated in Lawrence, Cappy was the son of Samuel and Rose Saab. In 1942, Cappy joined the Air Force as a Radio Man, where he fought over seas during World War II. Upon his return Cappy worked for the Frank C. Meyers Corp. of Lawrence as a shipping supervisor, for over 30 years. He also worked for B.G.Peck Company from where he retired in 1986. However, he continued with part-time employment as part of a cleaning service for Western Electric.

Mr. Saab was a devoted father and grandfather, who loved and cherished his wife and family.

Cappy will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Estelle (Cardoza), his 2 daughters, Joyce A. Kulig of Dracut and Nancy R. and her husband Christopher Baker of Nashua, 5 beloved grandchildren, Michael and Martin Kulig of Dracut, Danielle and Andrew Baker of Nashua, NH, and Rachel and her husband Trevor Smith of Louisville, KY, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: Joseph, Thomas, and Harry and his sister Mary.

Mr. Saab’s family would also like to give a great deal of thanks to the Nurses and Staff at the Nevins Nursing Center for all of the care, comfort and support they showed to Cappy over the years.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence, St., in Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, June 29, 2009 at 9 o'clock at St. Francis Church in Dracut with burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make donations in Cappy’s name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
