Obituary

David R. Ryder, 45, of Manchester, died June 22, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River, VT after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Ayer, MA, February 1, 1964 and was the son of David L. Campbell of Quincy, MA and Beverly Ryder of Hillsborough, NH

A member of the Army National Guard for 21 years, he served in Operation Dessert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He was the recipient of a Purple Heart, 2 Army Commendation Medals, 4 Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, 2 National Defense Service Medals, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Service Medal, as well as 2 Bronze Service Star Medals and Southwest Asia Service Medal.

In addition to his parents he leaves his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Campbell of Quincy, MA; a sister, Barbara Poulin of Manchester; a half sister, Maryalice Campbell of Quincy, MA; two half brothers, Paul Campbell of Quincy, MA and Brian Campbell of Taunton, MA; a niece and several nephews.



A committal service, with military honors, was held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
