Robert P. Regan, 79, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Regan was born in Boston, MA on October 13, 1929, son of the late Martin J. and Margaret (Costello) Regan. He was a long time resident of Derry who also wintered in Hobe Sound, FL. Mr. Regan grew up in Boston. He served with the U.S. Army and later very proudly with the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed a very successful career in the auto industry. Mr. Regan was a member of the American Legion; he was a history buff and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by four children, Sandra J. Regan of Quincy, MA, Robert P. Regan, Jr. of Holland, MA, Jacqueline A. Huntington of Franconia, NH, Robin M. St. Pierre of Goffstown, NH, seven grandchildren, Mark and Kevin Regan of Quincy, Bobby and Amanda Regan of Holland, MA, Alex, Janie and Josh St. Pierre of Goffstown, a brother, Edward Regan of Brockton, MA and also by nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wives, Jane Regan in 1979 and Rita Regan in 2006, a brother, Martin Regan and a sister, Winifred Hall.
Visiting hours were held from 2-6pm on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, with Marine Funeral Honors at the close of calling hours. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots, 64 Harvey Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053 in keeping with his Marine traditions.
