Frances M. (Hammond) Hatch 80, of Pembroke, died Monday June 22 at Wingate at Silver Lake after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to James A. Hatch. Frances was born in Abington and brought up in Whitman and attended Whitman schools. She was the daughter of the late William G. and Edna (Bartholson) Hammond.
Frances has been a resident of Pembroke for more than 30 years, where she enjoyed being with her family.
She worked for the former Foxboro Company as an assembler for 10 years before retiring in 1972.
In addition to her beloved husband of 62 years she is survived by her son James Hatch, Jr. and his wife Anita of Bourne, his 2 daughters Donna Rudolph of Middleboro and Valerie Warwick and her husband Charles of Pembroke, her brother Robert Hammond of Whitman; also grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 11, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Betty Davenport, and William, Richard, Jack and Ronald Hammond.
Her services will be held on Saturday June 27th at 9:30AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held on Friday June 26th from 4:00-8:00PM.
