Maria (DeLuccio) Cappuccio, 95 of Lexington, South Carolina and formerly of Franklin died June 20 in the Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina. She was the wife of the late Ralph Cappuccio who died in 1994.
Born in Caloure, Italy, November 9, 1913, the daughter of the late Michael and Raffalina (Buccelli) DeLuccio, Mrs. Cappuccio came to America in the early 1950’s and lived in Boston for several years before moving to Franklin where she lived for 32 years before moving to South Carolina five years ago.
A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughters, Maria Leva and Lena DeMattia both of Lexington, South Carolina.
She is also survived by a brother in Italy and a sister in Australia and 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 26 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
