AUBURN-Andrew J. Hacanis, Sr., 77, of Auburn, died Monday, June 22nd in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He leaves his wife of 32 years, Jeannine H. Kasparian-Hacanis. His three daughters, Cindy Rotman of Bangor, NY, Lynn Gilbreath and Ruth Natale, both of Spencer; two sons, Andrew J. Hacanis, Jr. of East Hampton and Jeffrey Hacanis of Westborough; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. His brother, John Kruba and his sister, Victoria, predeceased him.
Mr. Hacanis was born in Worcester and was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce and Clark University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Hacanis was employed by the Flexcon Company in Spencer for 28 years as a general sales manager. After his retirement, he taught computer skills to seniors at the Worcester Senior Center and donated time at the Seven Hills Foundation on Hope Avenue in Auburn. Mr. Hacanis represented District 4 of Auburn at many town meetings. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the American Legion- Chester P. Tuttle Post.
The funeral is Friday, June 26th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, June 25th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
