Manchester– Claire J. Gendron, 94, died June 21, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on October 24, 1914 the daughter of Eliud and Antoinette (Begin) Mailhot. She had been a lifelong resident Manchester.
Prior to her retirement she had been employed by J.F. McElwain Shoe Co.
She was a member of St. Anne Sodality of Sacred Heart Parish as well as a lifelong parishioner of Ste. Marie Church.
Family members include her husband Laval Gendron, of Manchester, one daughter Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Radick of Bedford, one son Michael Gendron of Auburn, two sisters, Rita Bruneau and Theresa Bryant both of Manchester.
In Her Life: She leaves three grandchildren, Joseph Gendron of Rochester, Natalie Gendron and Nathan Gendron, both of Auburn, one daughter in law Denise Gendron, of Auburn, two sisters in law, Florie Coyne, Leona Gendron, both of Manchester; four deceased brothers, Lorenzo Mailhot, Leopold Mailhot, Onil Mailhot, Armand Mailhot, and one deceased sister, Lillian Mailhot.
Services: Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 3 to 7pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St. Manchester. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Ste. Marie Church on Thursday at 10 am. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
