Stella M. Boykin, 87, of Valdosta died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will received friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Boykin was born on April 13, 1922 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Benjamin “Ben” Boykin and Elizabeth Luke Boykin, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Willis Terrell and Simon Peter Terrell; and several brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith.
Ms. Boykin is survived by two sons, John Terrell of Adel and Jimmy Terrell of Tennessee; two daughters, Lottie Bell of Haines City, Florida and Barbara Bennett of Adel; one brother, Cecil Boykin of Berrien County; one sister, Carolyn Bruce of Berrien County; 26 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.
