Palmina A. "Pam" (Pasquantonio) Caruso, 80, of New Bedford died June 20, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of Rudolph M. Caruso with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Framingham, the daughter of the late Emilio and Mary (Giordano) Pasquantonio, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Caruso was a communicant and an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church where she was a member of the Women's League and the church choir. She was a member of the Sons of Italy.
She was formerly employed as a para professional with the New Bedford Public School System for 30 years until retirement.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul Caruso and his wife Nancy of Bristol, RI; 5 daughters, Christine Kennedy and her husband Bruce of Melbourne, FL, Elena Caruso and her companion Paul Caplan, Regina Jalbert and her husband Richard, all of Dartmouth, Patricia Arruda and her husband Steven of Westport and Andrea Caruso of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren, Cheryl Curtis and her husband Jeff, James Kennedy, Brian Jalbert, Carolyn Caruso, Catherine Caruso, Christina Caruso, Allison Arruda and Lauren Arruda, a great-granddaughter, Bailey Curtis; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Marcotte.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Thursday, June 25th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, June 24th from 4-8 PM.
