McGrath, Catherine Mary nee Rogan born May 27, 1940 passed away -June 18, 2009 in Boston, MA at the age of 69. Catherine was born in Achonry, Co Sligo Ireland to parents Martin Rogan and Katie Ane Rogan nee Brett. She was the sister to Martin Rogan spouse of Evelyn Rogan, Elizabeth McCaul spouse of Peter McCaul, Helen Doody spouse of Liam Doody, Breege McCaul spouse of Peter McCaul, and Margret Kennedy spouse of John Kennedy. Katherine left Ireland for America over 40 years ago to New York where she fell in love and married her spouse Michael Jarlath McGrath of Wollaston, MA originally of Ballindine Claremorris, Co Mayo Ireland after which they settled in the Metro Boston area. Catherine was the mother to Maryellen McGrath who is the future spouse of Christopher D. Howie, both recently of Braintree, MA. Catherine was also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews across America and in Ireland. Sadly Catherine became mentally ill and was unable to care for herself and be with family. For the past several years she was a resident of Benjamin Health Care where she received necessary medical and psychiatric care. Catherine loved singing Irish folk songs, fine art, and crocheting. Funeral from the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) JAMAICA PLAIN on Tuesday June 23 at 9:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St.Theresa of Avila Church, West Roxbury at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Interment at St Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
