Gaetano S. Lauria, age 88, of Woburn formerly of East Boston, passed away June 20th at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Brescia) Lauria. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Luigi and Philomena (Schrina) Lauria.
Mr. Lauria was a retired maintenance worker and worked for the City of Boston Housing Dept. for over thirty years. He enjoyed reading and traveling, but most of all he was devoted to his family and loved being in their company. Mr. Lauria was also a United Stated Marine Corp Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lauria is survived by his children, Louis Lauria and his wife Lorraine of Peabody, Linda Hazen, Stephen Lauria and his wife Josephine all of Revere, Guy Lauria and his wife Faith of Peabody, David Lauria and his wife Mary of NJ, Christine Colecchia and her husband Michael of Revere. Loving stepfather of Lee Matheson and her husband John, Beverly McCue, all of Woburn, Daniel Pento and his wife Agnes, and Paul Pento of NH. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
His funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Wednesday, June 24th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Interment services will be private.
