Verna M.Chesney, 90, Clarksville, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carlyle, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carlyle, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home and from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Zierden Day Funeral Home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born in St.Louis,MO on Dec.16, 1918,daughter of Felix Thielen and Nellie Favier Thielen. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband Orville A. Chesney and one son Wayne Chesney, two brothers Donald Huels and Gilbert Thielen. She is survived by two sons David (Kathryn) Chesney of Clarksville, Michael (Judy) Chesney of Vancouver, WA, one daughter Patricia Dunlap of Clarksville, daughter-in-law Betty Chesney of Clarksville, one sister Catherine Addison of St.James,MO, one brother Frank Huels of Waterloo, IL; seven grandchildren, Grace Chesney of Washington, DC, Patrick Chesney(Saundra) of Clarksville,Tim Chesney(Kelly) of Lexington, KY, Denise Dettwiller (George) of Clarksville, Christopher Dunlap of Atlanta,GA, Jennifer Chatham (David) of Salem, AL, Sean Chesney (Aldona) of Vancover,WA, eight great grandchildren, Ben Chesney of Washington, DC, Hunter Chesney of Clarksville, Michael Chesney and Ashley Chesney of Vancouver,WA, Jared Chatham and Ian Chatham of Salem,AL, "Det" Dettwiller of Clarksville, Christian Chesney of Lexington, Ky.
