Mr. John J. “Jack” Henson, a retired Medford Firefighter, died suddenly at his home in Medford on Thursday, June 18, 2009. He was the Beloved husband of Joyce E. (Graham) Henson. Mr. Henson was 72 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on May 22, 1937, he was the son of the late John J. Henson, Sr. and Katherine V. (Mayberry) Henson, all lifelong residents of Medford. Jack had been a Medford Firefighter for more than 38 years. He has lived an active life and enjoyed a home in Wakefield, New Hampshire as well as a home in Naples, Florida. In his spare time he enjoyed golf.
Besides his beloved wife, Joyce, he was the devoted farther of David A., and his wife Suzanne of Medford and Firefighter John R. Henson of Reading. Cherished grandfather of Katherine M. “Katie” and Lauren E. Henson, brother-in-law of Medford Deputy Chief Scott A. Graham and his wife Mary. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
His funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 9 AM followed be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were Monday, June 22, 2009, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
