Douglas R. Brown, Sr., 67, of Village Drive, Smithfield, a retired mason contractor died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Valerie M. (Wainwright) Brown.
Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Annie (Templeton) Brown. He had been a resident of Smithfield since 1967 and had previously lived in Pawtucket.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children; Bonnie L. Brown of Amherst, ME, Douglas R. Brown, Jr. of Johnston, James A. Brown of Smithfield, Robert W. Brown of North Scituate and Heather A. Paone of Johnston, nine grandchildren; Douglas, III, Ryan, Megan, Danielle, Amanda, Robert, Jr., Jared, and Savanna Brown and Marc Paone, Jr. and two brothers; Lloyd Brown of Smithfield and Alan Brown of Providence. He was the brother of the late Jack Brown.
His funeral service will be held Monday at noon in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation 11am - 12noon. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
