Maria J. (Laranjo) Pereira, the wife of Eduardo R. Pereira, died at Tufts – New Enland Medical Center in Boston on June 17, 2009.
She was 66.
Born on the island of Fayal, Azores, Mrs. Pereira was the daughter of the late Henrique D. and Ana G. (Santa) Laranjo.
She was raised and educated in Portugal before moving the Untied States on Feb. 9, 1962.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Pereira was proud to be a breast cancer survivor.
Besides her husband of Taunton, she leaves 2 sons, Eduardo H. Pereira and Steven J. Pereira, both of Taunton; 2 daughters, Ana M. Roberts of Berkley and Nancy L. Bombard of Taunton; a brother, Manuel D. Laranjo of Taunton; a sister, Fatima Soares of Freetown; 4 grandchildren, Cameron and Mason Roberts, Brenden and Brad Bombard; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Ana M. Pereira.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Monday, June 22nd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 21st from 4 to 7 p.m.
