Obituary

Patricia Anne “Pat” Handley, of Charleston, wife of 57 years to Paul Handley died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1 o’clock at Grace Lutheran Church, Summerville. Visitation for friends and family will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville. Burial will be private.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to the American Heart Association, 409 King Street, Suite 300, Charleston, SC 29403 or the American Lung Association, 1941 Savage Road, Suite 200-A, Charleston, SC 29407.

Pat was born October 14, 1927 in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Howard M. Aeh and Henrietta Cooper Aeh. She enjoyed being around people and doing search word puzzles. She loved cooking, collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes. She was Mrs. Congeniality in the Mrs. Charleston Pageant in the late 1960’s. She was a Navy Thrift Shop Manager in Yokohama, Japan and Charleston. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Charleston.

Surviving in addition to her husband are:
2 Daughters: Paula L. Handley of Jacksonville, FL and Pam Daily and her husband David of Tampa, FL
1 Grandson: Joshua Logan Summers of CA.
2 Granddaughters: Kimberly Anne Daily and Dana Almira Daily of Tampa, FL
1 Great-Grandson: Cameron William Rutherford of Tampa, FL.
Numerous Cousins
She was pre-deceased in death by her daughter Phyllis Summers.
