Mrs. Nellie S. McFarland, 90, formerly of 2 Water Street in Gorham, NH passed away on June 7, 2009 at the Trident Medical Hospital in North Charleston, SC. She was born on January 17, 1919 in Oahu, HI the daughter of Seiichi and Kito (Masuda) Sasaki. She came to live in New Hampshire from 1948 to 1968, returning to Hawaii to live until 1984. She then returned to New Hampshire to live in Gorham and moved to South Carolina in 2000 to be with her daughter. In Hawaii, she had been employed by the Mililani Garment Factory and had been employed by the Granite State Rubber Company for several years and at the Yokohama Restaurant while residing in Gorham. She was a member of the Gorham Methodist Church.
Members of her family include her daughter Alice Dutrow of Goose Creek, SC; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister Miyoko Ohara of Mililani, HI; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Clessie McFarland.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday morning June 22, 2009 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home 1 Promenade Street in Gorham, NH. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 9 to 10 AM on Monday, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lary Cemetery in Gorham.
