John A. Fallon, 97, of Woburn, died Saturday at home. The son of the late Bernard and the late Delia (Rigney) Fallon, Mr. Fallon was born in Cambridge in 1906. He attended Sacred Heart High School in Watertown and went on to Bentley College, graduating in 1930. Mr. Fallon worked for Hood Rubber Co in Watertown, before starting on the Cambridge Fire Department in 1942. In addition to his firefighting duties, he was Treasurer for the Cambridge Fireman“s Credit Union and the Fireman“s Relief Association for many years. He retired as a lieutenant in the Cambridge Fire Department in 1971, after 29 years of service. Mr. Fallon was married to Sarah E. (Donahue) of Woburn from 1944, until her death in October 1987. He was married to Margaret A. McCann for the last 13 years. His lifetime hobbies were ice skating and dancing. In addition to his wife Margaret, he leaves two loving daughters, Claire Fallon of Alexandria, VA, and Mary M. Sullivan of Tuscon, AZ, two sons-in-law, Robert J. Erickson and Daniel J. Sullivan, a grandson, Brian E. Russell and his wife Gayle, and a granddaughter, Hope E. Sullivan. The funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday at 9AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated at St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tues 4-8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
