Elizabeth (Eaton) Bangs, 94, of Marion died June 15, 2009 at home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late David H. Bangs.
Born in New York City, the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Eunice (Dennett) Eaton, she was raised in Fairhaven and has lived in Marion since 1962.
She was a member of Friends of the Marion Visiting Nurses, the Garden Discussion Group and the Sippican Women's Club. She enjoyed volunteering at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, Tobey Hospital, and the Adult Literacy Program at the Wareham Public Library.
Survivors include a son, David H. Bangs, Jr. of Portsmouth, NH; a daughter, Anne O. Lowell of Cambridge; a brother, Minot D. Eaton of Camden, ME; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Josiah E. Bangs.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 5th at 4 PM in St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, 124 Front St. Marion. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Elizabeth E.
