Kerry Steven Perrotta, Sr., of Noank, CT, passed away suddenly at his home June 15, 2009.
Born and raised in Brockton, MA on September 9, 1952 and was the 20-year-long loving companion of Debbie Holmes, also of Noank and devoted father of son Kerry Jr. of Queens NY.
After attending Northeastern University he received his degree from a Boston IT Technical School. His career began at Nixdorf, an international computer company where he was based between California and Germany. In 1980 he was recruited by General Dynamics, Electric Boat where he worked until the early 1990's. Upon realizing his love of the carpentry restoration trade, he broke from corporate life to pursue and be mentored in that field, eventually forming his own successful local business. He lovingly restored his own home that was built in 1851 in Noank.
Kerry was an avid football and baseball player and competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League. For many years after moving to Groton he formed his own Football league and continued to play both sports until his late 30's.
To find relaxation, he loved to travel and eventually found the Island of St. Maarten, where he and Debbie had plans to retire to snorkeling and living? on the beach.
Predeceased by his parents, Paul Perrotta Sr., and Adeline Makepiece Perrotta, he is also survived by brother Paul Perrotta, Jr. and wife Carol of Kingsport TN. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew, Lindsay, Nicole, Melissa, Dasha, Brenna, Sean, Allex among others.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday at 2pm. Fr. Brian Romanowski, Pastor of St. Patrick Church, Mystic will officiate.
