Obituary

"L.E.", Lenward Ervin, "Bo" Conger, 94, of Tifton died Monday, June 15, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Salem Baptist Church. Rev. John Cone and Dr. Danny Ray will officiate with burial to follow in the Conger Family Cemetery. David Morris, Robert Snyder, Andrew Winningham, Michael Winningham, Waymon Conger and Allen Conger will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Conger was born on May 16, 1915 in Worth County and was the son of William Allan Conger and Fannie Kendall Conger, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann Graham Conger, who died on December 26, 2005. He was a retired farmer and was previously employed at Armour Meat Company. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and served from 1942 to 1945.

Mr. Conger is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Jim Snyder of Tifton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Len and Larry Winningham of Starke, Florida, William and Kim Morris of Doerun, David and Mary Nell Morris of Tifton, Roseanne and Roger Smith of Orange, Connecticut and Robert and Maggie Snyder of Tifton; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
