Agnes Souza, 90, of New Bedford died Sunday July 20, 2003 suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Brazelina (Melo) Souza.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Miss Souza was formerly employed as a purchasing agent for the Star Store for many years until her retirement. She had previously worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company during World War II.
Survivors include her sister, Isabel Souza of New Bedford; 2 nephews, Michael Nystrom and Frederic Nystrom; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.She was the sister of the late Edward Souza and Hilda Nystrom.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday July 23, 2003 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, Slocum Rd., North Dartmouth at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday July 22, 2003 from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
