Evelyn T. Sayles, 84, of Rowley Street, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Hospice Inpatient Center. She was the widow of Robert C. Sayles, Sr.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (McGuire) Hanley. She had been a lifetime resident of Providence. She had been a telephone operator for the former New England Telephone before retiring.
She is survived by her children Robert C. Sayles of Johnston, Joan F. Jordan of Barrington and Evelyn T. Sayles of West Warwick, and seven grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Kathleen Hardy, Mary Collins, Christine Rodgers, William and Francis Hanley.
Funeral Thursday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial in RI Veterans Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
