Dr. Robert C. Rustigian. of North Easton, MA died June 9, 2009. Born on July 26, 1915. Robert grew up in Medford, MA and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He continued to obtain a Masters and PHD in microbiology from Brown University. Robert served in World War II as a Captain in the Untied States Army Medical Corp in European theater from 1943 to 1946. Following his military service, Robert’s academic career included teaching Bacteriology, Immunology, Microbiology, and Virology at Harvard Medical School, the University of Chicago and Tufts University. His work in virology and tissue culture are published in the New England Journal of Medicine. After moving to North Easton, Massachusetts, he served as Chief of the Virology Research Laboratory at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Brockton. MA until retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife Gloria (Florentino) and their children Robert Rustigian, Jr. of Plymouth, MA, Gabrielle Rustigian of Evergreen, CO and Christina Wallace of Dunstable, MA and his grandchildren Nicholas and Tanya Rustigian of Plymouth, MA.
