Obituary

AUBURN-Raymond S. Bylund, Sr., 81, of 35 Bylund Ave., died Saturday, July 19 in his home after being stricken ill.

He leaves his wife of 57 years. Hazel V. (Orne) Bylund; three sons, Raymond S. Bylund, Jr. of Auburn, Ronnie Bylund of Sturbridge and Terry Bylund of Charlton; three daughters, Annie McTygue of East Sandwich, Dawn Lemansky of Auburn and Sheryl Brunelle of Worcester; a brother, Arne Bylund of Auburn; 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Ralph Bylund.He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Bror Edward and Anna (Sjoland) Bylund and lived here most of his life.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater.

Mr. Bylund was a carpenter for Builders Systems in Auburn for many years before retiring in 1986.

He loved to garden and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed his spending time out by the water's edge next to his home.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 12 Noon in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Streeet, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, July 22 from 11-12 PM.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
