Joseph Belli, 93, of New Bedford died Tuesday January 8, 2002, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham.
He was the husband of the late Mary (Joaquin) Belli, and son of the late Angelo and Argentina (Belli) Belli.
Mr. Belli was born in Southbridge, Mass., and had lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Bedford.
Mr. Belli was the proprietor of Belli's Delicatessen in New Bedford for many years.
He was a former member of the Italian Literary & Mutual Aid Society.
Survivors include 3 sons, Arthur A. Belli of Naples, FL, Joseph A. Belli of Middletown, RI; and Robert Belli, of Fairhaven; a daughter, Theresa Botelho of Fairhaven; a sister, Rose Sykes of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was the grandfather of the late Cheryl Belli Demers, and the brother of the late Albert Belli, Ernest Belli, Italo J. Belli, and Emilio A. Belli.
