Obituary



ELIZABETH SPRING (FEENEY) "BETTY" LORMAN, 92, of Sandwich, formerly of Hull, passed away with her family at her side on May 13th, 2009 at the Bourne Manor Nursing Center in Bourne.

Betty was born in Cambridge, MA in 1916 to Julia Hellen and Frank Feeney and was the youngest of five children. She was pre-deceased by her sisters; Helen Chisholm of Hull and Rita Gough of Arlington, and her brothers; Francis of Cambridge and Walter Donald also known as "Mike" of Arlington.

She attended St. John's in North Cambridge and upon her marriage to Hollis Spring moved to Hull to raise her family. Hollis passed away in 1957. Betty worked at the Hull Electric Light Plant with her good friend Snooky Johns, until her retirement in 1981.

Betty married George Lorman of Hull and Quincy and continued to reside in Hull until George's death in 1985. She then moved to Sandwich to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed boating, especially in the Cove at World’s End in Hingham, bowling, bingo, bus trips to Foxwoods, sing-alongs and the Red Sox.

Betty was the mother of Donald Spring of Sandwich and Barbara McKeon and her husband Timothy also of Sandwich. Grandmother of Bridget Cassidy of Plymouth, Christian Seabird of Gainsville, FL and Megan and Michael Wickenden of Grand Isle, VT. Great Grandmother of Brendan, Regan, Sunny and Aurelia. Aunt of Judy, Mary, Jacquie, Diane, Marie, Paul, Steven, Michael and Sonny, all of whom she loved dearly.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 22nd at 10 AM at St. Ann’s Church, corner of Samoset Ave. and Lewis St., Hull followed by interment in the Hull Village Cemetery.
