Marion A. (LaPalm) Mello, 73, of Norton died unexpectedly on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Mello who passed away on July 15, 2003.
Born in Attleboro, MA on December 3, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Leafy (Miller) LaPalm.
She grew up in Attleboro, was educated in Attleboro public schools and was a graduate of Attleboro High School. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her family, Mrs. Mello had also worked in the Domestic Service Dept. at the Holliday Inn in Taunton for several years prior to retiring and had also been employed at Hallsmith-Sysco in Norton and for the former L.G. Balfour Co. in Attleboro.
Marion was very devout in her catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. She enjoyed times spent at home with her family, crocheting, and she will always be remembered for her exceptional cooking skills and her charitable ways. She had made her home in Norton for the past 26 years and was formerly of North Attleboro.
She is survived by her devoted children Janice E. Goulet of Falmouth, Corinne L. Kessmaul of South Attleboro, Michele A. Mello of Norton and Robert M. Mello, Jr. of Foxboro. She was the adoring grandmother Nicholas Kessmaul, Andrew Kessmaul, Adam Kessmaul, Rachael Hodson, Alicia Talbot and Janice Talbot. Marion is also survived by 6 cherished great grandchildren.
A private funeral mass will be celebrated at the convenience of her family in St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Burial will also be held privately.
