FRANKLIN—Thomas E. Barrett 56, of Franklin, died suddenly, Tuesday June 9, 2009 at the Milford Regional Medical Center, shortly after his arrival. He was the beloved husband of Deborah J. (Barton) Barrett.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, January 4, 1953, a son of the late Edgar J. and Joan E. (Farrell) Barrett, he had been a resident of New York for many years before moving to Upton, and finally settling in Franklin in 1988.
Educated in Brooklyn, he furthered his studies at Hofstra University on Long Island, where he received a bachelors of Science degree in economics in 1975. Until his illness forced him to retire, he worked for over 25 years as a medical sales representative in the New England area.
He was passionate about the New York Giants, and also loved to go sailing. He was a gourmet cook, who enjoyed spending time with his family and listing to music. He was a proud husband and father, who gave his time coaching his boys in little league and soccer.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by two sons Thomas J. Barrett of Albany, New York and Timothy P. Barrett of Franklin. Also surviving are his siblings Kevin, Jane-Ellen and Eileen Barrett of Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday June 12, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq., at 10AM
Interment will be private.
