Olin Booker, age 72, died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his home in Water Valley, MS. Born on October 4, 1936 in Lafayette County, MS, he was a son of Posey, Sr. and Marjorie Spears Booker. Mr. Booker was a retired skilled laborer and was a member of Masonic Lodge #62 and a member of South Hopewell M.B. Church.
The service will take place Friday, June 12, 2009 at 1:00 pm at South Hopewell M. B. Church in Taylor, MS with Pastor Avery Headd of Buford. GA officiating and Rev. Terry Wortham, Pastor. Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 1 until 5 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Browning Cemetery in Lafayette County.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Martha B. Booker of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Deborah J. Bailey of Oxford, MS, and Alice Morgan of Independence, MO; three sons, Dennis (Del Marie) Booker of Aurora, CO, Dwayne (Doris) Booker of Lawrenceville, GA, and Olin (Audrey) Booker, Jr. of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Annie Cox of Oxford, MS, and Laura Hall of Memphis, TN; one brother, Posey (Maggie) Booker of Milwaukee, WI; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; a special son, Randy (Diana) Owens of Hong Kong; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
