TEWKSBURY - Anna (Hines) Dobbin, age 65, died Monday evening July 14, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the wife of Benedict "Benny" Dobbin to whom she celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary thispast September 29th. She was born in Reserve Mines, Cape Britain, Nova Scotia, Canada onAugust 8, 1937 the daughter of the late Wallace and Jean (Lorway) Hines of Canada. She movedto Massachusetts in 1965.
She Retired in September 2002 after 17 years of service from theTewksbury School System.
She was an active member of St. William's Church, the St. William's Sodality, and participant in St.William’s Tech weekend.
She enjoyed movies, casinos and playing bingo.
Besides her husbandshe is survived by four children: Three daughters; Darlene and Jef Mulcahy of Lynn, Lisa andTom Burke of North Andover, and Cindy Dobbin of Tewksbury. One son Travis Dobbin ofTewksbury. Three sisters; Florence Swiston and Jean Barron both of Sidney, Nova Scotia,Dorothy Bondy of Windsor, Ontario. One brother Ambrose and Shirley Hines of Tewksbury. One Grandson Liam Mulcahy. Also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
She was also mother of the late Wally Dobbin who died in 1984, and sister- in -law to the late Roddie Swiston, Francis Barron, and Robert Bondy.
Her Funeral Mass was held Friday, July 18, in St. William’s Church. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
