Paul V. Schefisch, 88, a resident of Methuen, MA., passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Methuen.
Born, July 18, 1920 in Wakefield, MA., he was the son of the late Robert and Rose (Smith) Schefisch. Mr. Schefisch had owned and operated Joseph's Flower Shop. A United States Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Schefisch had served in Normandy. A parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Saint Theresa's Church in Methuen, he enjoyed his family, home, gardening and flowers as well as fishing.

A step-daughter and caregiver Pauline M. Halloran of Methuen, MA.
He is survived by 7 grandchildren and was predeceased by his grandson Paul A. Halloran and his granddaughter Paula J. (Halloran) Wozniak. Mr. Schefisch is also survived by 10 great grandchildren among whom is a special great grandson and caregiver Jason M. Wozniak. Mr. Schefisch is also survived by 6 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He is survived by sisters: Helene Guare of Montpelier, VT., Ruth Carter and her husband James of Rockport, MA., and Ann Poulio and her husband Joseph of Wakefield, MA. He was also predeceased by his sister Rita Gorey.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Saint Theresa's Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. Family and Friends may call on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 2 to 7 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
