
Mrs. Rita Marie (Hughes) Pagano, a 44 year resident of Medford, formerly of Charlestown and beloved wife of Leo A. Pagano, died at her home in Medford on Thursday evening, June 4, 2009.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ruth E. (Rand) Hughes. Rita was a graduate of Charlestown High School. She had been employed by her family business, the Boston Harbor Cruises, for many years. Mrs. Pagano had also been employed by Carroll’s Diner in Medford for many years. She was a member of the Red Hats and truly enjoyed and loved all that life had to offer. Above all, Rita was a wonderful family person, always enjoying her time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and many friends.
Besides her beloved husband, Leo, she will be very sorely missed by two loving daughters and one son-in-law; Dani F. and her husband Matthew F. Reardon and Julie Doherty Pagano and Stephen Maglio, all of Medford, three cherished grandchildren; Ryan P. Reardon, Robert L. Reardon and Garrett M. Dolaher, all of Medford, two dear aunts; Mildred “Millie” Meli of Lexington and Irene Smith of Medford, devoted brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Frank and his wife Etta Pagano of Medford, Constance and her husband Arthur Batson III of Falmouth, ME and Madeline and her husband Joseph Bean of N. Andover and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Ruth “Rookie” Nolan. Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were Sunday, from 2 to 7 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
