Obituary

FRANKLIN—Louis J. Chelotti 79, of Franklin, died Thursday June 4, 2009 at the Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Franklin, January 2, 1930 a son of the late Luigi and Amelia (Prota) Chelotti, he was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
He was raised and educated in Franklin schools, and worked for many years for the New York New Haven Railroad as a track maintenance officer. After his retirement from the railroad, he worked part time at the Rome Restaurant in Franklin.
Mr. Chelotti served in United States Army during the Korean War and attained the rank of private and was honorably discharged in 1959.
He was and avid New England sports fan, he especially enjoyed the Boston Red Sox, he also liked country music, growing tomatoes, and was well known in his neighborhood for always giving you a wave when you drove by or just stopping by for a quick chat.
He was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He is survived by his niece Patricia A. Ristaino of Franklin, and a nephew James Chelotti and his wife Karen of Mashpee.
He was the brother of the late Guido and Joseph Chelotti, Emma Ristaino and Laura White.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors on Monday June 8th, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) Franklin.
Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A calling hour will be from 10-11AM on Monday.
