Frank J. Lauria, a long-time Malden resident died Wednesday at the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. He was 78.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Antonio and the late Josephine (Pagano) Lauria. He served with the Navy during the Korean War and then enjoyed a long career with Conrail Rail Road. Known as “Uncle Frank” to many, he owned Sea Wood in Malden which manufactured lobster traps and supplied the fishing industry. Most of all, Frank was devoted to his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was the beloved husband of Julie (Corvi). He was a devoted father of Michael Lauria and his wife Diane of Malden, Maria Piazza and her husband Steven of Lynnfield, Chris Lauria and his wife Jodie of Danville, NH. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren. He was a dear brother to Salvatore Lauria of Saugus and brother-in law of Rita and David Fitzgerald of Salisbury, Dino Corvi of Saugus. Frank also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Sunday, from 1 thru 3 PM with a funeral service at 3 PM. Services will conclude with a collation in celebration of Frank’s life.
