DOHERTY Rev. John Emmet, C.Ss.R. of Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York, May 28, 2009. Born on August 14, 1909 in Everett, Ma. He was the son of the late Patrick Dennis and Catherine (Quigley) Doherty. He professed his vows as a Redemptorist 75 years ago and has served as a Roman Catholic priest for 70 years. Father was assigned to missions in Puerto Rico, the Vice-Province of Richmond, 25 years in Bradford, Vermont and for over 30 years he was stationed at the Mission Church in Boston, serving also as Chaplain at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Until quite recently, he was still enthusiastic about playing tennis, which he had done for many years. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, MargaretKillgoar, Marcella (Teresa) McMahon, Eileen Carbone, Rita Sano, Kathleen, Joseph, Vincent and Edward Doherty. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. A Christian Wake Service in Boston was held at 7;30pm. Monday June 1st. at the Basilica (Mission Church), 1545 Tremont St. Mission Hill. A Con-celebrated Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday June 2nd. at 10:30am in the Basilica and the Rite of Committal foolowed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Boston. Memorials may be made in Fr.
