Jane Burd Chun of Tarpon Springs, FL, formerly of Pipersville, PA, passed away on May 28, 2009. Jane was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Her faith in the Lord gave her strength and she is now truly at peace. Jane was a vibrant, creative and hard working woman. She was one of the first pioneers of healthy cooking and baking in the 1950's and started her own successful catering business that she ran for 15 years. She cared for elderly women in her home that were co jointly placed by the Doylestown Area Agency on Aging. Jane welcomed all who came into her home and she left her generous mark on all who knew her. Jane's friends were dearest to her heart and treasured them greatly.
Jane Margaret Dexter was born on November 4, 1926 in Mattapoisett, MA to Veronica (Gossman) and Charles Dexter. She married David R. Burd of Carversville, Pa in 1945 until he passed away in 1975. Jane married Chuman Chun of Hopewell, NJ in 1978 who passed away in 1994. Jane is survived by the descendants of David: sons Dennis (Linda) of Plainwell, MI, David (Jenny) of Naples, FL, Glenn (Jessica) of Pipersville, PA, Bruce of Dublin, PA and daughter Liz McNenny of Spartanburg, SC. The surviving grandchildren are Kerry (Craig), Matthew, Mariana, Sullivan and Julian, Tighe (Joanne), Aaron, Benjamin and Ethan. The surviving great-grandchildren are Joshua, Ellen and Kate. Jane is survived by the descendants of Chuman: Larry (Lynn) of Bainbridge Island, WA, Beverly (Jason) of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Jeff of Hopewell, NJ. The surviving grandchildren are Michael, Sarah, and Elisabeth. Jane is preceded in death by her brothers Edward Dexter of Mattapoisett, MA and Robert Dexter of Dearborn, MI. Her surviving sisters are Catherine Mucha (Theodore) of Frederick, MD and Nancy Rowley of Buzzards Bay, MA. Jane also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday June 27, 2009 at the Carversville Christian Church Carversville, PA. Florida friends are invited to attend a memorial service (to be announced) at the Church on the Bayou in Tarpon Springs, FL.
