Gabrielle J. Lessard, 96, of Auburn, died June 4, 2009 at a local health care facility after a period of declining health.
She was born in Auburn on November 12, 1912, the daughter of John and Anna (Cote) Gabert. She was educated in the Auburn school system.
Gabrielle was an excellent seamstress who loved sewing, cooking, and knitting. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Peter Church.
Her husband Arthur J. Lessard died in 1998.
She was also predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey A. Lessard in 1975 and one brother, Albert Gabert.
Family members include two sons, Paul J. Lessard and his wife Beverly of Waterville, ME, Richard P. Lessard of Manchester; one daughter, Diane Singer and her husband Donald of Arizona; four grandchildren, Michael P. Lessard, Karen Singer, Katherine Singer, and Gillian Masteller; one great-grandson, Kevin Lessard; two sisters, Albertine Tessier of Rochester and Celina Paquette of Auburn; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, Jun 8, 2009 in St. Peter Church, Auburn. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
