WORCESTER-Emma C. (Moser) LeFort, 99, of the Donna Kay Nursing Home formerly of 1060 Main Street died Tuesday, July 15th in UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus after an illness. Her husband, August E. LeFort died in 1972. She leaves a son, Roy W. LeFort of Dudley; 3 daughters, Barbara M. Marquis and Ruth E. Kenneway both of Worcester and Eleanor J. Cronin of York Beach, ME. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 2 sons, Stanley A. and Raymond E. LeFort predeceased her.
She was born in Nova Scotia the daughter of William and Emma (Banks) Moser and lived here for many years. Mrs. LeFort worked as a Dietary Aide at St. Vincent Hospital for 5 years before retiring. Previously, she worked at Woolworth’s for 13 years and did volunteer work for St. Vincent Hospital. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church, the 1060 Club and the Thursday Afternoon Club.
The funeral will be Saturday, July 19th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, July 18th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
