Obituary

Mr. Richard R. Girard, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 2 in Morton
Hospital. He was born 76 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Henry D. and Laura
(Boucher) Girard. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a construction worker for several area
construction companies. He had previously been employed at Western Union for 12
years. Mr. Girard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of
the Korean War Veterans Association, the David F. Adams Post #611 Veterans of For-
eign Wars, and the Polish-American Citizens Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and
dancing.
He leaves:
2 daughters: Pamela Capaldi of Berkley
Michele Green of Taunton
5 grandchildren
several nieces and nephews
Mr. Girard was also the brother of the late Doris Stigh of Dighton and the late Henry
R. “Hap” Girard of Taunton.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street
on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rela-
tives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 5:00
to 8:00 P.M.
